AFAX Events
AFAX organises and
takes part in a number of events during which it
strives to put forward viewpoints that contribute
to meeting its objectives. These take the form of:
Conferences and
workshops - on topical issues of
concern to the diaspora community as well as to the wider
African community. A wide
spectrum of socio-economic and political issues are covered
and the organisation ensures that key policy makers,
academics and civil society representatives are present
during these events. To date, AFAX has organised 11
conferences/workshops on issues such as the African heritage,
the relevance of aid to the continent, the African economy,
impact of African professionals in their host society, etc..
In addition to its target group of Africans in the diaspora,
these events have attracted members of
the African diplomatic corps in Brussels, representatives
from the Belgian public and private sector, NGOs and
international institutions (EU and World Bank)
